35 years of COPL - Partner in innovation

On November 4, join us to celebrate the COPL ecosystem under the theme "Partner in innovation". The program will review the history of the Center for Optics, Photonics and Lasers, highlighting the rich synergy and partnerships between academia and industry, as well as the innovation, technology transfer and scientific entrepreneurship that have characterized it since its beginnings.

The event will close with a cocktail reception to mark the contribution of all the builders who have played a part in this adventure.

Symposium on integrated photonics and quantum applications

On November 5, come and meet leading figures in Integrated photonics and quantum applications at the symposium dedicated to these cutting-edge themes at the interface of nanophotonics, mid-infrared detection, special materials and integrated systems, driving promising advances in the world of quantum science.

The speakers will give you an insight into the next innovations in the detection and manipulation of quantum bits, and the daring fields of application linked to them. The programme will feature Gerd Leuchs, President of OPTICA 2024 and of the prestigious Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light; Galan Moody, Professor of Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of California Santa Barbara; Bhavin Shastri, Professor of Engineering Physics and member of the Centre for Nanophotonics at Queens University; Mercedeh Khajavikhan, Professor in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California; Jacob Bulmer, Quantum Architect at Psi Quantum; and Gordon Harling, President of CMC Microsystems.

The day will conclude at the precious Photonic Optics Pavilion for a traditional networking cocktail.

Two events in one, to be held on November 4 and 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Université Laval's Pavillon Alphonse-Desjardins.
